CIMUSET Award 2025 – Shortlist Announcement Award

The CIMUSET Award Committee is delighted to announce the two shortlisted projects for the CIMUSET Award 2025, recognising outstanding contributions to sustainability, innovation, and social relevance in science and technology museums.
Musée des Arts et Métiers, France
Project: Carbon Footprint, the Exhibition!
This ambitious exhibition reinterprets industrial heritage through the lens of today’s ecological crisis, transforming nineteenth-century collections into powerful narratives about humanity’s carbon footprint. By integrating eco-design principles, reusing materials, and collaborating with circular economy partners, the museum has significantly reduced its own environmental impact. The project also opens new spaces for public participation, fostering repair cafés, citizen initiatives, and dialogue around sustainable futures.
Science City, India
Project: On the Edge?
This permanent gallery engages visitors with the urgent realities of climate change through immersive, interactive experiences. Combining global science with local perspectives, it promotes accessibility and inclusion through free entry, multilingual resources, and universal design. Experienced by over one million visitors, the gallery has become a model for climate education and action across India.
The winner of the CIMUSET Award 2025 will be announced during the CIMUSET Day at the ICOM General Conference in Dubai this November.
