Network of Aviation Museums

CIMUSET’s first Special Interest Group, the Network of Aviation Museums, aims to build practical and beneficial collaborative relationships between aviation museums around the world. Aviation museums refers museums with content and collection related with aerospace in its various senses: transport, science and technology, design, history, way of life itself, and so on.

The most important initiatives of the network are the practical training workshops for aviation museum professionals that we will be running in 2025 and collaborative projects in the area of creating exhibition, developing educational program, managing collections, and etc between aviation museums.

To discuss and share your opinions about this altogether, we are organizing a pre-conference seminar at the Technical Museum in Vienna, before the 2024 CIMUSET annual conference.

Call for papers

  1. Contents : examples and practices, suggestions, ideas and etc. for building the network
  2. Submission guidelines
    1. Deadline: Midnight (12:00 AM, CET) 30 June 2024
    2. Abstracts should be between 250 and 300 words and in pdf format
    3. 15 minutes presentations
    4. Abstract to be sent to cimuset2023@gmail.com
  3. The official language of the pre-conference seminar is English
  4. All submissions will be reviewed and responded to by the National Aviation Museum of Korea (a.k.a. NAMOK).
  5. The assistance with participation (transport, accommodation, etc) could be discussed. However, the support will be limited to one per organization and may vary depending on the participants.
